  Research on optimal support span: In order to reduce the total cost of offshore oil and gas projects without affecting quality and safety, this study aims to determine the longest cable tray support span to reduce the number of supports and lower the main cost of the cable tray system. By comparing the finite element modeling method and simplified manual calculation, the longest span without increasing the strength (thickness) of the cable tray was verified, and the constructability of longer spans was verified from the perspective of manual processing of cable trays. The results indicate that the optimal span proposed in this article can bring better economic benefits without reducing constructability, such as saving material and construction labor costs as the span increases.

  Real time hybrid testing based on vibration table and actuator: In order to accurately reveal the seismic performance of cable tray systems, a new real-time hybrid testing method based on vibration table and actuator (RTHT-STA) is proposed. This method uses a vibration table to simulate ground motion, and sets up displacement mode controlled servo hydraulic actuators on the vibration table to simulate the transverse shear boundary conditions between the numerical substructure and experimental substructure of the cable tray system. The effectiveness and accuracy of this method have been verified through numerical simulations and experiments, and the results show that the method is stable and reliable, with a correlation coefficient of up to 91.78% with traditional vibration table test results.

  Research on hysteresis model of primary and secondary beam nodes in cable tray: In some earthquakes, the cable tray system in buildings has suffered serious damage or even collapse, which is usually caused by the failure of the primary and secondary beam nodes (MSBJ). This study proposes a hysteresis model for MSBJ based on cyclic loading experiments, which can accurately reflect the damage mechanism. The dynamic characteristics, seismic response, and damage situation of cable tray systems using different node models on a vibration table were analyzed through numerical simulation. The results indicate that compared with other models, the proposed MSBJ hysteresis model is more accurate and can be used to predict the seismic behavior of cable tray systems.
